Q: What is G4Green?

A: G4Green is a green business directory and marketplace with a built-in sustainability engagement environment that helps organisations improve sustainability performance, activate measurable green action, and gain visibility through transparent Green Ratings and verified impact.
The platform connects participating organisations (Green Stars), ecosystem leaders (Green Leaders), and solution providers through structured Green KPIs, selective verification, and credible public visibility β€” helping transform sustainability commitments into coordinated and measurable progress across internal and external ecosystems.

Q: Who can join G4Green?

A: Companies of all sizes that are keen to showcase and improve their sustainability performance β€” including green solution providers, industry leaders, community leaders, public-sector entities, universities, NGOs, and membership-based organisations such as associations and chambers of commerce β€” can register on G4Green.

Individuals may freely browse the platform to discover green-performing organisations, explore sustainability initiatives and events, and access curated sustainability knowledge without creating an account.

Q: Is my data secure?

A: Yes. We take data privacy seriously. All sensitive documentation is handled according to our Privacy Policy, and only verified aggregation or public-facing ratings are shared as per your chosen privacy settings.

Q: What are the available subscription tiers for companies?

A: Companies can choose between a Basic (free) or a Premium Green Star account. Each tier provides a different level of functionality, visibility, and verification β€” allowing organisations to engage with sustainability at their own pace and ambition.

Q: What is a Green Leader account?

A: Green Leader account is designed for organisations that want to coordinate and accelerate sustainability engagement across employees, members, suppliers, customers, affiliated companies, or wider stakeholder ecosystems.

Green Leaders use structured Green KPIs, sustainability campaigns, verification mechanisms, and Impact Tokens to activate measurable green action, track progress, compare performance, and encourage collective participation across internal and external networks.

Green Leader accounts are suitable for companies, public-sector entities, universities, NGOs, industry groups, membership-based organisations, and other ecosystem leaders seeking to turn sustainability ambitions into coordinated and measurable impact at scale.

Q: Can I upgrade my subscription later?

A: Yes. You can upgrade from Basic to Premium at any time. The new plan will be valid for one year from the upgrade date.

Q: Is there a refund if I cancel my plan?

A: No. Due to the service-based and verification nature of the offering, all subscriptions are non-refundable as stated in our Terms and Conditions.

Q: What is the Green Rating?

A: The Green Rating is an internal benchmarking tool that awards points based on a company's sustainability actions, such as carbon accounting, ESG reporting, SDG alignment, and community engagement.

Q: How do I earn Green Stars?

A: Green Stars are awarded based on your Green Rating Score. Your score increases as you upload verified sustainability actions, accreditations, and performance data.

Q: What are Green Stars?

A: Green Stars are visual recognitions of your sustainability efforts, earned based on your Green Rating. They can be displayed publicly on your profile to showcase your achievements.

Q: Who can see my Green Rating and earned Green Stars?

Basic users can use their Green Rating internally for performance tracking and improvement.

Premium users may choose to display their Green Stars and sustainability tier on Green Connect. Public display is optional and can be enabled or hidden at any time.

Q: What are Green KPIs?

A: Green KPIs are structured and measurable sustainability actions used by Green Leaders to coordinate sustainability engagement across employees, members, suppliers, customers, affiliated organisations, or wider stakeholder ecosystems.

They translate sustainability goals into clear and verifiable actions with defined criteria, timelines, participation objectives, and evidence requirements. Green KPIs may cover areas such as climate action, resource efficiency, supply-chain engagement, sustainability awareness, wellbeing, circular economy participation, or community initiatives.

Q: Who can assign Green KPIs?

A: Green KPIs are assigned through Green Leader accounts to engage employees, members, suppliers, affiliated organisations, customers, or wider stakeholder groups in measurable sustainability action.

Depending on the Green Leader configuration, KPIs may be used for:

  • Internal engagement initiatives
  • Supplier and supply-chain engagement
  • Community and membership programmes
  • Sustainability awareness campaigns
  • Coordinated ecosystem sustainability initiatives

Q: What does "Powered by [Sponsor]" mean?

A: "Powered by [Sponsor]" indicates that a Green KPI is associated with a sponsor that meets G4Green's automatic eligibility rules. It does not imply endorsement, certification, exclusivity, or preferential treatment by G4Green.

Q: Does KPI sponsorship affect how a KPI works?

A: No. Sponsorship references shown in a KPI ID are informational only. They do not affect:

  • KPI assignment
  • Participation eligibility
  • Verification
  • Scoring
  • Impact Token incentives
  • Visibility or ranking on the platform

Q: Who can appear as a KPI sponsor?

A: Only Green Stars that:

  • Hold a Premium Green Star account, and
  • Maintain a Green Achiever (4β˜…) or Green Champion (5β˜…) rating

are eligible to appear as a sponsor in a KPI ID. Eligibility is validated automatically by the platform.

Q: Does sponsorship create procurement or commercial obligations?

A: No. KPI sponsorship does not create procurement requirements, supplier preferences, purchasing commitments, or competitive obligations. Any commercial or funding arrangements related to sponsorship occur off-platform and are outside G4Green's scope.

Q: Can sponsorship be removed?

A: Yes. If a sponsoring Green Star no longer meets the eligibility criteria (e.g. rating downgrade or account change), the sponsorship reference may be removed automatically from the KPI ID.

Q: Does KPI sponsorship affect platform neutrality?

A: No. G4Green remains neutral and does not promote, prioritise, or endorse sponsored KPIs or sponsoring organisations.

Q: Can I opt out of platform-led Green KPIs or campaigns?

A: Yes. Premium Green Stars can manage participation in optional platform-led Green KPIs through their account settings. This does not affect participation in KPIs assigned by other Green Leaders.

Q: How are Green KPIs verified?

A: Green KPIs are verified based on:

  • Submitted documentation and evidence
  • Platform logic and consistency checks
  • Manual or partner-based verification where required

Only verified KPI completions can be published publicly or linked to incentives.

Q: What are Impact Tokens?

A: Impact Tokens are a digital incentive mechanism used on G4Green to encourage and reward verified sustainability action.

They are not a currency, not a financial instrument, and not a payment method. Impact Tokens can only be used within the G4Green ecosystem for predefined sustainability-related purposes.

Q: How can Green Stars earn Impact Tokens?

A: Green Stars can earn Impact Tokens by:

  • Improving their Green Rating
  • Completing verified Green KPIs assigned by a Green Leader or self-assigned

The nominal value of one Impact Token is USD 1, funded by G4Green and/or the relevant Green Leader.

Q: How are Impact Tokens funded?

A: Impact Tokens are funded through two distinct mechanisms:

  • Platform rewards funded by G4Green, linked to verified improvements in a Green Star's Green Rating.
  • KPI-linked incentives funded by the assigning Green Leader, where a Green KPI includes an Impact Token incentive.

When a Green Leader assigns a KPI with an incentive, a minimum of 10% of the allocated Impact Tokens must be funded in advance upon KPI creation, ensuring credibility and preventing unfunded incentive commitments.

Q: Can Impact Tokens be purchased?

A: Yes, Green Leaders may purchase Impact Tokens to incentivise sustainability performance:

  • Purchase price: USD 1.10 per Impact Token
  • Minimum order: 1,000 Impact Tokens
  • Token purchases may be partially and conditionally deductible from the following year’s subscription fee, subject to verified engagement and performance (T&Cs apply)

Green Stars cannot purchase Impact Tokens.

Q: How can Impact Tokens be used?

A: Impact Tokens can be redeemed exclusively on Green Connect to access verified green solutions, products, or services offered by approved Green Solution Providers.

Impact Tokens:

  • Cannot be transferred outside the platform
  • Cannot be exchanged for cash by Green Stars
  • Can only be redeemed for sustainability-related offerings

Q: Who can cash out Impact Tokens?

A: Only Green Solution Providers are entitled to cash out Impact Tokens earned through the provision of verified green solutions on Green Connect.

Green Stars use Impact Tokens for redemption only.

Q: Are Impact Tokens publicly visible?

A: Yes, aggregated and verified Impact Token activity may be displayed publicly to demonstrate real sustainability engagement and outcomes.

Individual commercial details and sensitive data remain private.

Q: Is this compliant with regulations?

A: Yes. Impact Tokens are designed as:

  • A closed-loop incentive mechanism
  • With no speculative value
  • No peer-to-peer transferability
  • No use outside the G4Green platform

This structure avoids classification as a currency, security, or financial instrument.

Q: Are Green KPIs and Impact Tokens mandatory?

A: No.
Both Green KPIs and Impact Tokens are optional engagement tools designed to:

  • Increase participation
  • Accelerate sustainability action
  • Improve measurability and credibility

Organisations may use G4Green without assigning KPIs or incentives.

Q: Can this information be publicly available?

A: Yes.
This information is suitable for a public FAQ page, as it:

  • Explains the mechanics transparently
  • Avoids financial or regulatory misrepresentation
  • Clearly defines roles, limits, and responsibilities

Q: What kind of data is verified?

A: Organisations may request third-party verification of uploaded sustainability data for an additional fee.

Q: Who conduct the verification?

A: Verification is conducted in partnership with the global sustainability auditing firm Earthood, in line with recognised assurance standards. Once verified, key data points are securely recorded on the blockchain, creating a tamper-resistant and time-stamped record to protect data integrity and support transparent public disclosure.
